Is there omega-6 in fish oil?

Yes. Every species of fish has a unique fatty acid profile, and omega-6 naturally occurs in fish oil in very small amounts. One 1000 mg softgel of Spectrum Fish Oil from anchovies, mackerel and sardines, for example, contains 25 mg of omega-6. Similarly, one 520 mg softgel of Spectrum Cod Liver Oil contains 26.5 mg of omega-6. Click on the Supplement Facts Panels in the Products section of our website to learn about the complete fatty acid profiles of our fish oils.

What are your capsules made from?

Currently, our softgel capsules come from a bovine source -- usually from the United States, but if necessary we will also use gelatin from cows raised in Japan.

We have not yet been able to find an acceptable vegetarian capsule that will hold the oil, but are working towards this.
