Is coconut an allergen?

According to the FDA coconut is now considered a tree nut and therefore an allergen. You can access the FDA Guidance for Industry: Questions and Answers Regarding Food Allergens at: http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/alrguid4.html for more detailed information.

How are the Artisan Oils processed?

The nuts or seeds are lightly toasted at a low level heat, then crushed using a stone mill, then finally fresh cold pressed to yield a rich, full flavor oil.

Why are they called 'handcrafted'? What does 'handcrafted' mean?

‘Handcrafting' refers to the practice of crushing the nuts or seeds in small, well-controlled batches to ensure quality. These particular oils are lovingly produced in this manner on a third generation family farm in central France.

What is the best way to use these oils?

Spectrum Artisan Oils are perfect for drizzling over fine food, dipping artisan breads into them, and baking your favorite gourmet recipes. Search our recipes on our main site for some great ways to use these delicious oils.
